The prizes on your wheel decide how people feel about your event. Too few good prizes and the crowd loses interest; too many and your budget disappears. This guide helps you choose what to put on a custom prize wheel and how to keep it fair.
Start with your goal
Decide what you want from the wheel before you choose prizes. If you want to attract visitors, small gifts are enough. If you want qualified leads, offer something related to your business, such as a free consultation or a sample.
Prize ideas by type
| Prize type | Examples | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Small gifts | Pens, notebooks, sweets, keyrings | Trade shows, events with many visitors |
| Discounts | 5 %, 10 %, free delivery | Retail stores, online shops |
| Experiences | Free demo, consultation, tasting | Lead generation |
| Big prize | Gift set, voucher, product | Main attraction, one or two sections |
| Try again | Extra spin | Keeps the game exciting |

How many sections?
The number of sections is your choice. More sections make the wheel feel richer and let you offer more prizes, but each section gets smaller, so text must stay short. Fewer sections are easier to read from a distance. A good rule is to keep section text to a few words.
Keep the odds fair and visible
- Repeat small prizes in several sections so people win often.
- Give the big prize only one or two sections, and be clear about what it is.
- Do not promise prizes you cannot deliver, and set the quantity you can give out for the whole event.
- Show the rules on a sign next to the wheel.
If your promotion is open to the public, check the rules for prize draws and promotions in your country before you start.
Make the sections yours
Every wheel is made to your own design, with your own section colours, text, logo and language. See our D90 Most Popular wheel (from 329 €) or choose another size.
